Deanne Pastva, the Legislative Chair for SNA of Ohio, will be organizing Ohio Delegates for the Legislative Action Conference (LAC) from March 8-10, 2021.
SNA National has published our annual Position Paper (located under Pending Federal Legislation) that we will virtually present to our Legislators on Wednesday, March 10th (known as "Zooming the Hill" this year). We speak to our Legislators about our concerns and our successes so that we can continue to have the support and funding that our operations need. Our Legislators need to hear from us directly, so please plan to participate in this very important process. Industry partners and school district personnel are equally important, and we need as many voices as possible!
*Early bird registration ends January 22, 2021, so get registered ASAP.
If you cannot virtually attend the entire conference, but would like to virtually meet with our Congressional Representatives on March 10th, you can do that. Please let Deanne know by emailing her at [email protected] and let her know if this is the option you choose so that she is able to keep you informed. You must be available for a virtual meeting with her on Tuesday, March 9th from 4pm-5pm, and then again on Wednesday, March 10th beginning at 1pm. We have not scheduled any virtual meetings with our Congressional Representatives for March 10th yet, so we don't have exact meeting times. Please note: if you choose to just Zoom the Hill, this is not on the Registration Form online.
It is never too early to start planning for this event, and your help and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
Some very important info:
1) If you have not done so already, please respond email Deanne at [email protected]
to let her know if you are planning to attend the entire conference, or just Zoom The Hill.
2) Forward this email to anyone that you know who would like to attend (or just Zoom The Hill), and ask them to email Deanne if they are planning to attend.
3) Once Deanne has a list of Ohio attendees, she will send out a form for you to complete, listing all of your information [name, address, phone, Congressional Representatives name(s) etc.]
4) She will need the name(s) of your work and home Congress(wo)men. To find out who yours is, go to: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/OH#representatives
and type in your home and work address (separately) in the search bar, and click "Find My Representative." You will see Ohio's Senators' names, and you will need to scroll down to see your Representative's name.
