SNA of Ohio, in partnership with Institute for Child Nutrition, is pleased to present the educational webinars below via zoom at no cost to our members!  There is a limit of 30 attendees for each webinar.  Webinar information will be emailed to membership and posted on this page on the registration open date listed for each below.  Please be sure to register early to reserve your spot – but also please be certain that you can attend before registering.  Thank you!


March 16th – Emergency Preparedness – 2:30-4:00 p.m.

Emergency Preparedness

This training will describe the role of the SNP in emergency preparedness. Participants will also learn about some resources which they can use to determine how to respond to an emergency At the end of this training, participants will be able to accomplish the following objective.
  • Describe the role of the school nutrition program in emergency preparedness.

April 8th – 3:00-4:30 p.m. – Special Dietary Needs
30 is capacity, and registration will open on March 17th
 
Special Dietary Needs 
1.5 hours 
Key Area: 1 (Nutrition) 
USDA Professional Standards Code: 1160 
 
The School Nutrition Program is required to offer special meals at no additional cost to children whose disabilities restricts their diet as defined in USDA’s nondiscrimination regulations, 7 CFR Part 15b.
 
At the end of this training, participants will be able to accomplish the following objectives.
  • Identify major legislation related to disabilities.
  • Identify food safety and financial considerations related to special needs.
  • List required components of the diet prescription.
  • Identify common dietary modifications.
  • Describe effective and appropriate interactions between school nutrition staff and students with disabilities and their caregivers.

April 27th – 8:00-9:30 a.m. – Emergency Preparedness
