Northeast Fall Focus
Mentor High School’s professional development center, the Paradigm was the place to be for the Northeast Region’s Fall Focus. We had 75 attendees from districts all over the northeast that participated this year.
Both of our sessions were well received by the attendees. We did a twist on the scratch cooking presentation and Mentor Schools had some of their kitchens do live demonstrations of how we incorporate our convenience foods with some of our scratch items to create entrees and side dishes. Samples of each demo were set out for attendees to try.
We also had great door prizes and a 50/50 raffle that everyone enjoyed. Decorated cakes, gift cards, a gift basket from the American Dairy Association, and gift cards from Domino’s and Connie Hair Loft were items available to some lucky door prize winners. We also had Kathy Latino from Mentor Memorial School in Mentor win the SNA of Ohio free registration for our conference in June and Elizabeth Ray from Painesville will a free membership for the School Nutrition Association.
Attendees also had a wonderful meal brought to them by Jocelyn Kociera of Kent Precision Foods and Amanda Bretz from Acosta. A meal of delicious pasta with marina sauce or Alfredo sauce and meatballs was served with salad, rolls and butter, and a wonderful apple crunch pie was served for dessert.
